    The National EnergyAwards is a strategic endeavour by the Malaysian Government that aims to:
  • recognise and reward industry players who have demonstrated leadership in implementing sustainable energy practices;
  • encourage more organisations to adopt sustainable energy practises toinstil a competitive spirit that will act to set new benchmarks and grow the national sustainable energy sector;
  • position the nation as a leading player in ASEAN by showcasing Malaysian innovation, technology and expertise in the sustainable energy sector.

    NEA is the nation’s premier accolade recognising organisations at the forefront of driving Malaysia’s sustainable energy sector through the implementation and adoption of game-changing sustainability practices in the fields of energy management, energy efficiency or in the deployment of renewable energy solutions.

    Presenting Malaysia’s Best Practices for Regional Recognition

    Participation in NEA is open to qualifying Malaysian companies able to demonstrate practices and/or projects in two categories –

    1(a) Energy Management

    1(b) Energy Efficient Buildings

    2 Renewable Energy.

 
 

Raising Awareness and Encouraging Adoption of Sustainable Practices

As part of efforts to recognise the significant role in raising awareness and for encouraging the adoption on sustainable practices, 3 categories of special award namely Energy Performance Contractors, Institute of Higher Learning and Sustainable Energy Financing are also announced.

  1. Special Awards – Energy Performance Contractors

    Open to Malaysian Energy Service Companies registered with the Energy Commission and the Malaysian Association of Energy Services Companies, the award aims to recognise the important role played by ESCOs in driving the adoption of energy efficiency by Malaysian organisations.

  2. Special Awards – Institute of Higher Learning

    Recognising the important role institutes of higher learning play in increasing awareness on the role of energy efficiency and the potential of renewable energy, the award is open to all Malaysian universities undertaking projects anywhere in Malaysia.

  3. Special Awards – Sustainable Energy Financing

    Aimed at recognising the fundamental role played by financial institutions in facilitating growth of Malaysia’s sustainable energy sector, the award is open to all financial institutions funding energy-related projects or ventures in the country.
