KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 (Bernama) — Malaysia on Wednesday unveiled its Pavilion at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, reaffirming its commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and advancing global climate action.

Themed ‘Climate Action Now: Net Zero Pathways Unlocked’ , the Pavilion showcases Malaysia’s whole-of-nation approach and continued journey towards achieving its net-zero target, said the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry (NRES) in a statement issued here.

The Malaysia Pavilion at COP30 is spearheaded by NRES, in collaboration with its implementing agency, the Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), and supported by leading national partners Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and Maybank.

The Pavilion brings together key national and international stakeholders including TNB, the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN), Amanah Lestari Alam (ALAM), the National Water Services Commission (SPAN), Air Selangor, and the World Bank.

“Bringing together voices across government, industry and civil society, the nation is advancing towards net-zero through strong governance and private sector commitment, ” the ministry said.

The Malaysia Pavilion will also host a series of high-level dialogues, panel discussions, report launches and collaborative sessions designed to advance regional and global conversations on climate resilience.

Key highlights include chapters themed around Malaysia’s strategic focus areas such as Safeguarding Our Ecosystems, Adaptation in Action, Financing the Future, and Green and Blue Economy.

COP30 is taking place from Nov 10 to Nov 21.

NRES deputy secretary-general Datuk Nor Yahati Awang in the statement said Malaysia’s participation at COP30 is a clear reflection of the nation’s commitment to global climate action.

“We aim to drive tangible and transformative change that will realise our aspiration of achieving carbon neutrality and securing a sustainable future for all, ” she said. –BERNAMA
