1 November 2019, Kuala Lumpur – Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia), an agency under the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC), has appointed Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective today, to spearhead the country’s climate change agenda and to drive sustainable economic development. 

With promising credentials of over three decades in corporate Malaysia, Shamsul represents a dynamic combination of scientific mind-set coupled with technological know-how and business acumen. A visionary leader, he has led numerous teams towards specific business objectives and successfully turned around companies to profitability.

Speaking on the appointment, Chairman of GreenTech Malaysia, YBhg Prof Dato Ir Dr A Bakar b Jaafar said, “These are indeed exciting times for GreenTech Malaysia as the organisation prepares itself to transition into an expanded role which will now encompass becoming the nation’s climate change centre, requiring strong leadership, clear vision and decisive action.”
